BFA-Visual Arts When I think about landscape painting, I visualize the 'natural' textures of the environment and how I can sculpt these elements with paint on the canvas. I imagine the tactile feel of the tree bark texture, the cracks in the rocks, and the curves of the land formations when applying the paint with palette knives. My approach to landscape painting is learned through the tactile touch of the physical properties of the paint. Each type of paint has a different physical appearance and application method. I use a variety of different paints and other materials to create a textured mixed media landscape painting. When I complete a painting my intent is to give the viewer an opportunity to visually feel the textural and tactile elements found in nature. Painting is not only about observing, but learning to feel. Location: DeGroot's Nurseries Phone: 519-882-0472 Email: texturedstudio@gmail.com Medium: painting | ![]() |
