Stef SmallsStef Smalls
Stef Smalls started taking pottery at Lambton College in January 2003, with hopes of discovering a new hobby.
She ended up finding a new passion.
Stef just loves the endless possibilities of working with clay. Whether it is hand building, wheel thrown or a combination of the two.
Her functional line includes “Funky Tablewares with Flare” with a variety of one of a kind pieces to choose from, Stef is sure you'll find something you will enjoy for years to come. She has fun creating the pieces and hopes that they add some fun to your life too.
Stef also uses Alternative Firing Techniques such as Raku, Naked Raku, Ferric Chloride Fuming, Foil Saggar and Horse Hair Raku to finish her pieces. Mainly she has been experimenting with Foil Saggar and decorating with horse hair and feathers. This is done by firing the piece then removing it from the kiln while it is still extremely hot and applying the decorations of the carbonized horse hair and feathers. These pieces are Non Functional and intended to only hold food for the Soul…As Art pieces.

Stef continues to take courses throughout Ontario and the U.S. to broaden her knowledge of this wonderful medium called clay…Besides it is cheaper than Therapy.
