As an emerging Layerist, Sue is intrigued by the connectedness of colour, texture and depth of surface. By painting transparently in both watercolour and acrylics, scratching through the the surface, wiping back or building up successive layers, she creates correspondence between the levels so as to include past and present, near and far, known and unknown.
